The #HOTPOTATO Selfie Hits Sydney

TORONTO, ON, February 3, 2015 – New York Fries, the privately owned Canadian fast food chain specializing in premium french fries, gourmet hot dogs and poutine, has arrived in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Located in the Mayflower Mall food court, the store is owned and operated by local franchisee Craig Boudreau.

To celebrate the opening, New York Fries (NYF) is playing a game of #HotPotato for the chance to win free fries. Ten branded NYF potatoes known as ‘Spud’ have been circulated to Sydney media and influencers. If one gets passed to you, you’re asked to snap a selfie with Spud, and share the picture on Twitter or Instagram tagging @newyorkfries and including #HotPotato. You can also post your photo on Facebook.com/nyfmayflower with #HotPotato to enter. Then you must pass Spud on to a friend as quickly as possible.

On ‘Fryday,’ February 20th, NYF in Mayflower Mall will treat you to a free order of fries when you present a picture of your #HotPotato selfie shared on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. As well, each Friday (Fryday) in February, NYF will select a weekly #HotPotato selfie winner to receive $100 on their New York Fries FRY SOCIETY mobile loyalty card.

New York Fries’ FRY SOCIETY is a deliciously easy, app-free mobile loyalty program. FRY SOCIETY “Members” earn points towards free food at New York Fries each time they visit and make a purchase at NYF. After 10 visits, members can select any one item off the menu for free. FRY SOCIETY “Aficionados” (Members who pre-load their mobile loyalty card with money) earn even more rewards, including free fries on their birthday, and opportunities to double their points on select transactions.

Fries made the old fashioned way with whole potatoes, New York Fries are fresh, hand-cut daily (with skins on), cooked to order in non-hydrogenated Sunflower Oil and served hot and crisp. The New York Fries menu also features classic poutine, The Works, Veggie Works and premium hot dogs.
